Sorry for the late reply. I am afraid the habitat was my kitchen floor however the local area (i.e.my garden) is chalk with very shallow topsoil. Overall size c8-10mm.
As this has a superficial resemblence to the much larger segestria florentina (though the cephalothorax is narrower).
I agree with keredtramns, this does look to be a zelotes species.
Its probably z.latrellei, as it has pale tarsi and the rest of its leg segments black, but I can't recall off hand if that is enough to rule out rarer species.
