Stems 2.2 cm, leaves very fine and pointed, 4mm long, and the terminal ones perhaps a bit longer >5mm. Slightly clumpy mat at base of Scots pine, though in a beech wood. Appeared much darker and with more erect tufts than Dicranum scoparium. Thin nerve the length of the leaf, and leaves appear a bit speckled when backlit.
