All my records from this area are from the grounds of the adjacent St Mary's Loch Sailing Club.

Tibbie Shiels

I was applying the name to the whole flat between the two lochs.

But it appears that I was wrong. I interpreted Shiels as shielings (summer pastures), but in fact it is a reference to the original proprietor of the Inn. Oops.
