Isn't it rather early in the winter for the sea buckthorn to be going? I thought it was usually one of the last berries to be eaten. Could be a hungry winter for some birds.
They're certainly proving popular with the thrushes at Aberlday at the moment.
Surveying one of my squares on Boxing Day it was noticeable how bare everything was, about the only thing left were a few rose hips. A potentially hard winter indeed (particularly if/when we lose this mild weather).
