Description:

In splash zone on the seafront defence wall. Hope to ID some of the lichens that are on the coast here. Will get pics of quite a few - lichens are definitely not my strong point even though I have Frank Dobson's field guide to coastal & seashore lichens. Added 2nd pic - not the same and here for comparison.

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

Species interactions

No interactions present.

into 2 separate pics. Please feel free to add your ID to second pic which I will remove from this entry. I have some more to add eventually and any help gratefully received. thanks.

Please don't alter this

Please don't alter this observation - it is very helpful in providing a comparison between the two species and will make my ID confusing if there's only one photo left!

Instead add a separate observation for each of the two species

that...

....was my intention - it is a great idea to have the differences pointed out.

Really helpful

It's very useful to see the two together (another beginner). Thanks! I've only seen X parietina so far (everywhere). :)
