Hi Cecilia,

Are you able to get a photo of the fly? If not it's going to be quite tricky, there are lots of species to choose from! However, at a wild guess I'd suggest one possibility is a dance fly in genus Empis, perhaps something like Empis livida:

or Empis scutellata:

(there are several similar looking Empis species)

cecilia I have noticed a problem with your locations called 'london'. It was showing up as very far away from where it should have been, the map just appeared to be black. I have edited in an approximate location for the city and you can change it to the correct place using the map [you can still leave the approximate location box ticked if you want].

If you want more detailed instructions you can contact me directly by clicking on the contact button at the bottom of the page.

As far as I know this problem has only affected 2-3 locations out of the thousands on ispot.
