Description:

Growing on paving, close to the water's edge.
RETHINKING 2014 - no longer so sure.

Slug-chewed

The thallus has been damaged, presumably by slugs, and I think what we see here are the regenerative lobules of X. parietina rather than lobule-like isidia.
