Description:

Grey-white, rimose thallus on shaded siliceous rock, with black, lecideine apothecia (rare if the ID is correct) alongside excavate soralia bearing pale green, granular soredia.
Hymenium colourless, c. 140µm tall. Hypothecium dark brown. Paraphyses sparsely branched. Asci 8-spored, with Porpidia-type tholus structure fleetingly but convincingly revealed by K/I staining. Ascospores simple, colourless, ellipsoid to ellipsoid-acuminate, 14-20 x 7-9µm (14-25 if a single outlier with a slender 'tail' is included). Spot reactions seemingly negative.
