I totally agree, however it would seem that the general consensus is that this is T. nobilitata.
However, (another one), out of respect to you I will down grade this to Therva sp. Many thanks thanks for your interest, appreciated.

You don't need to downgrade it for me(!) as nobilitata is far the most likely, I agree.
It might be better with one like this to have put it up with 'It's likely to be this...', though (covers a multitude of sins!).
As for specimens, I am not really your man. I would say go through Dipterists Forum, where the real fly experts are. I stick photos up there, sometimes, and the help is invaluable.
Fantastic photos you are putting up, by the way...inspiring me to have a look at some different species, next year.
