... but it's rather difficult to tell from the photograph and description provided. If he had mentioned the presence of acorns (confirming his identification of it as an oak) then the description of the leaves does narrow it down considerably.
...(looks over shoulder to ensure no-one is listening) "are you sure it's not just a Holly tree" !!
But it seemed a little out-of-keeping with the friendly nature of iSpot, so I resisted.
It was identified by a botanist so its a definate am afraid acorns have gone well i didnt see any
