Small “pinhead” structures under a board.

Observed: 24th November 2012 By: grant burleighgrant burleigh’s reputation in Fungi and Lichens

I am wondering if these are fungi and would be grateful for an ID. The ground had been subject to an extended period of rain but as the structures had been sheltered from it by the board, the droplets of water on them are presumably due to condensation (– but not guttation, I think).

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

I didn't have a scale on this occasion. A few mm. to a cm. long at a guess. Candle-snuff range.
