New Zealand pinnipeds - sea lions?

In New Zealand earlier this year we came across this small group of mammals, just a few miles south of Kaikoura (South Island). Some miles north of Kaikoura, at Ohau Point, we had seen a colony of New Zealand fur seals (Arctocephalus forsteri) and these looked very similar, but their behavious was different. The fur seals were a mixed group of adults and juveniles splashing around in the sea - here we have five or six, mostly fast asleep. So could they be sea lions?
