Do you have photo of section? Oak bolete usually turns only light blue at apex of stem with red in stem base.

Unfortunately, no section. I read that the pores do bruise blue in B. appendiculatus, but so do many others.
B.appendiculatus has pale yellow net on chrome yellow stipe, flushed with red and darker towards base, lemon yellow pores age slightly rusty bruise faintly blue-green. Stem and cap unchanging when handled. (R.phillips, M.Jordan) second pic clearly shows stipe discoloured very dark blue/black where held.

Yes its a good site but reading the discription and looking at pictures just reaffirms my belief that this is not B.appendiculatus.
