The cap is depressed, the margin appears pulled back and shows the gill edges, it is sort of the old ham colour, it does have a flushed stocky stem and it seems to be in deciduous woodland. I'm going to think about it!!

However, I have not measured the spores nor sequenced the DNA :-;
An iron reaction? Yes what more you ask. I think it looks quite small - and there may be a lot more italian russulas unfamiliar to me (there are a lot of british ones too).
