Difficult to believe this is

Difficult to believe this is a Noble crayfish found in the middle of Kent.

Looks more like a Turkish crayfish to me or a white claw with very long claws...

Many thanks,

Hope you didn't release it!

Hope you didn't release it! It is an offence under The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 This Act made it an offence to release, or allow the escape of any non-native species to the wild. Therefore once out of the water if it ain't our native white claw may I suggest the next water it see's is at a rolling boil hahaha ;-)

But the crayfish in the news

But the crayfish in the news report are (native) white claws, NOT the (alien) noble crayfish which are only found in the west country.

White claws and turkish are both found in Kent.

Many thanks,
TBR

Crayfish

The lake in question is full of them, there is a guy who has a license, the largest that he has trapped was approx 12" long we believed them to be signature crayfish, i have another photo but unsure how to add it.
