Bird seen in Ranthambore Fort in India. Distinctive colouring. Help please!
No interactions present.
I suspect you are probably right Doug. However I did have to think hard about whether to agree or not.
Have a look at your expressed confidence level I’m as sure as I can be and then what you have said in the notes.
If you had said It might be this or It’s likly to be this but I can’t be certain it would have been more reflective of your own feelings I suggest and certainly mine.
Ray - My confidence level was basically a ham fisted (sausage-fingered) quick button press when I went to fill in the "confidence" drop down list (sorry).
Then again, I personally wouldn't base any ID on how "confident" someone I don't know might be on their particular ID.
... level is something the experts do look at when agreeing so it does pay to give it some thought when making an observation.
It’s not a question of saying “they are sure so therefore I am”; exactly the opposite “they are sure but I’m not hence I can’t agree”.
But I do know that hamfisted feeling. :-)
Did this bird have a red vent then pajodor? (which would end any debate on "confidence")
