Possibly a beetle larva? Grateful if anyone can shed any any light on what it is!

On land? Under the soil? In freshwater? It looks like a diving beetle larvae.
I found it in a pitfall trap in my garden which is at the top of a 45 degree sparsely vegetated limestone slope. Having done a bit of research since posting it my best guess is a ground beetle larva but if you have any other thoughts on it I would be pleased to hear!
Definitely a predatory beetle larva - most likely a ground beetle but difficult to identify species from pic
