A lovely dragonfly of acidic habitats.
Entomologist and biological recorder
These dragonflies always remind me of my youth, growing up on the west side of Britain and spending much time in Scotland and Wales I was used to seeing golden-ringed dragonflies. Since moving to Yorkshire I could probably count on one hand the number I've seen here. Even in the North York Moors they do not appear to be as common as in similar habitats in the west.
