Description:

Found sunning itself on my Paddy's Pride Ivy. I think the species could be Syrphus ribesii because of the yellow hind femur. Does anyone agree?

The yellow hind femur is

The yellow hind femur is shared with S. rectus females. You will not decide for sure from the pic. S. ribesii is overwhelmingly the commoner, but you should never identify individuals on probability. Stick to the genus.
