OK, didn't know that females were a bit spotty in the chest, thank you.

I seem to get them in groups of three or so, over the winter, would that be a family group, I wonder?

Spotty

Female Blackbirds often look spottier, the older they get. In the winter, you might have a couple of regular birds, but you almost certainly get a number of different birds passing through every couple of days, as well.
