Its in its first winter. It will become paler in the second winter before turning into adult plumage.
it's not a herring gull because it hasn't got bit of red on it's beak
They do not have a red spot in the first two winters.
In the first winter it has a dark beak,in the second it goes pale with a black front end. Only the adults have a red spot.
The red on the beak is only found in adult birds. They do not get that until their third or fourth year.
