Easy to check, if you can find a fallen leaf or two: they have a pair of little notches at the stalk end.

Sorry? What for? I think you're right, but I'm not confident enough to ID it from the photo provided. My shortcoming!
I'm certain it's not black walnut - I'm very familiar with them, and although the leaves are similar, the overall tree shape/proportion/presentation are wrong.
I have some photos of one of my black walnuts, I'll post them as an observation later....
Really we need James *waves at OP* to go and get some of the fallen leaves for us!
The Black Walnut looks similar but leaves are much smaller. Once you know a Tree of heaven you spot then everywhere, they always have little growths growing around the main tree. I don't think the Black Walnut is invasive.
