I would be surprised to come across a yellow necked mouse in a Yorkshire dales woodland where I spotted this little fellow.
I thought yellow necked are common only in the south and southeast of England and central wales.
I could be wrong though !
I agree with David P - I discounted yellow-necked mouse for the same reason.
The inability to see the chest markings only causes ambiguity where the ranges overlap (or at the edge of the yellow-necked's range, bearing in mind that ranges can spread over time).
