Pale galingale was first introduced to Britain from tropical America in the late 18th century. Recorded in the wild by 1910 (Channel Isles) and now found in scattered locations throughout the southern half of the country. May be increasing and could be a potential 'pest' species in the future. Interesting to know what the situation is in France!
