Spotted a caterpillar in my porch this morning, seems to be a 'Marbled white' caterpillar. Thought it was strange to see one of these in October.

Saw a marbled white caterpillar this morning, would not normally expect to see one of these in October so thought it was worth adding to this site.
Also a harlequin ladybird
I agreed your Angle Shades ID before reading your notes, in particular the bit about refraining from agreeing your ID unless more knowledgeable than you!
I am not more knowledgeable, far from it, but I do believe your ID is right.
It wasn't so much a suggestion to refrain from agreeing as a suggestion to the original poster to seek additional confirmation before deciding they had IDd their caterpillar.
Amusingly if I remove my agreement from David Norton's then Angle Shades becomes the likely ID. Seems that according to iSpot you and I together add up to more than an expert.
I was quick to comment there David after reading your comment through, glad I did otherwise it might look I was siezing an opportunity to ingratiate myself! Yes the iSpot rating system sometimes produces surprises.
