Neck collar

The white neck collar and grey rump is a feature of sub-species torquatus from China but there are so many different races introduced here that safely identifying any one to subspecies level would likely not be possible from a photograph.

So do we have a native

So do we have a native Pheasant here in the UK or are they all introduced ????

Introduced

I believe the Common Pheasant is wholly introduced to this country, mainly as a game bird. I think it originates from Georgia.

All introduced

All the species of Pheasant in the UK are introduced.
