Behaviour

The same "pair" were back again today; closer up, the male looks sleeker and younger than the female. The female is never extremely aggressive, just persistent. Is this possibly a mother encouraging a son to find his own territory?

Age

The male is an adult. The wholly black plumage with yellow bill means that he was not born this year, but could have been any year before this. The female cannot be aged from the photos.

So, it won't be a mother-young relationship. Rather, I suspect, she is just protecting a food source for herself.
