Red Squirrel that I was lucky enough to see low down and in the sunlight on Brownsea Island - one of the last refuges of this creature in Southern England.

I've never seen a red squirrel in England but I saw several of them in Finland years ago whilst I was visiting my grandparents.
I've often wondered are the red squirrels on Brownsea there because of, or despite the large numbers of scouts who stay at the camp each year? Having been a cub scout leader I am inclined to suspect it is a bit of both.

Absolutely fantastic photo. Is this a youngster? It looks 'baby-faced', but difficult to judge body size.
