Unknown fungus

Observed: 21st October 2012 By: rcscorerrcscorer’s reputation in Fungi and Lichensrcscorer’s reputation in Fungi and Lichens

Growing among leaf litter at base of Horse Chestnut tree with small group of same spp. Max diameter of cap c.15cm. Distinctly grey - paler to the edges. Rubbery consistency. Smell of 'normal' mushrooms! Gills white, decurrent but not markedly so. Spore print: very pale yellow.


Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.
