Well-defined tiered upper in mid-brown colour (which led me to G.australe rather than Fomes Fomentarius, which tend to be much greyer uppers??), one of several examples on very old downed tree trunk. Circular pores - slightly more greyish than I would have expected for G.australe - releasing brown spores (see the brown fingerprint in second photo).
