Dobson fly

Defo a female Dobson fly - I've seen these huge insects often in Central and South America; the males are even more spectacular with huge sickle shaped mandible making the insect plus mandibles in some species a good 5 inches long... check this one from the USA Their huge fearsome looking larvae (Hellgrammites) are aquatic.
