Description:

Saw three of these bright red insect on limestone rocks along the path to the Inchnadamph Bone Caves.
Any ideas?

Not an insect, but a mite. I think this qualifies as a 'velvet mite', but how many species there are I have no idea.

I think it is the Red Velvet

I think it is the Red Velvet Mite (Trombidion).
You also have some nice Dog Lichen on there!
