Description:

Largest 4.5 cm across. Growing on a rotten branch lying on the ground. Dry surface, pleasant apricot scent. Spore print yellow-ochre. Orange droplets on stem. Mixed woodland, mostly deciduous trees.

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

That's it!

The log it was growing on seemed very old, possible it could have been elm; I didn't identify any elm in the wood. There were lots more tiny specimens to come.
It's on page 268 in my lovely new copy of Phillips. Don't know why I didn't spot it when paging through!

Good memory!

I was thrilled to find mine last year, they are so attractive. I hope you enjoy watching them develop, mine were quite long lasting. I don't think the photos in the books do them justice.
