I think this is a redshank. The bill is straight, and dark. The legs are reddish. Confirmation or correction would be great.

Unfortunately I don't think the photo is quite sharp enough to rule out some confusion species eg Spotted Redshank. The bill looks rather long for Redshank - but this may be an illusion caused by a ripple in the water behind....
I can't see it clearly when I blow it up, but the bill appears quite long and narrow, and upperparts look quite pale, so Spotted Redshank is a possibility.

It was a long way off and I wasn't sure so I thought it might be the more common redhank. But i guess it can't be id'd from the quality of the photo. Thanks for the comment and suggestions for id'ing the difference between the two species.
