Description:

This harvestman was sitting on the wall by my front door when I got home today, and from a distance I was expecting it to be the common Leiobunum rotundum, but on closer inspection it is a male Opilio canestrinii, a species I'd not seen before. It was first recorded in Britain in 1999 in Essex, and has slowly been spreading. There have been a few other observations on iSpot, but this seems to be the first record for Buckinghamshire.
