spotted this next to a stream in the new forest and can't identify it in the books that i have.
only had a small camera so picture is abit fuzy

As a very broad start to identification, dragonflies always hold their wings out horizontally and cannot fold them, whereas damselflies (like this demoiselle) fold their wings back when at rest.
