Amanita but which one

Its not A.muscaria hard to say which one from photo as would need to see stem and gill's ring.It looks more like A.excelsa var spissa

Unfortunately, this is one of those that i thought i knew what it was so didn't spend too much time over it..

I can't say that i sniffed it, one of those things i wish i knew when i saw it!

What would be seen as features if i had photographed the stem and gills?

The stem would be white smooth lined above the ring covered in small scales,the base of the stem was bulbus.The gills are white adnexed
