The "rust" seems to be a number of Silk Button Galls, caused by a wasp - Neuroterus numismalis.

I think the large gall is Biorhiza pallida (oak apple) and agree with RHoman abour "rust"

Agree oak apple for the large gall. Would it not be useful to post the two galls separately for the records and comparing Ispot pics?
