There is quite a bit of Serrated Wrack in the picture, the bladderless broad fronded seaweed, Fucus serratus.
Is it the serrated wrack to the top or the egg wrack to the lower part of the picture?
Thanks for your comments Cathal :) I think the seaweed at the top of the picture is Bladder wrack (Fucus vesiculosus). It has a lack of bladders as it was found in a more exposed area. To the bottom of the picture I think it is the stunted form of Egg wrack (Ascophyllum nodosum)??
I honestly didnt know there was a bladderless form! Sorry, On closer inspection I cant see any serrated edges to the fronds. I should have looked at it closer first time round, the structure of it cried out serrated wrack to me.
yeah as regards the Egg wrack, I dont know of another seaweed that looks so similar, I think it can only be that.
