Unknown Solanum type flower

Observed: 26th August 2012 By: allrounderallrounder’s reputation in Plantsallrounder’s reputation in Plantsallrounder’s reputation in Plantsallrounder’s reputation in Plantsallrounder’s reputation in Plants
Solanum 26.8.12 Beal on arable
Description:

A fair number of plants growing among the Knotgrass and Fat Hen. Each stood about 20-30cm tall. Pinnate leaves, with sharp spines. The flowers look like Potato flowers but when I uprooted an individual, there were no tubers and the leaves and spines are wrong for that species. Most of the flowers were white but there were a small number that were a very pale blue. Hope someone can shed some light on the species. Thanks

Thanks

for both ids. Gary. Following the links through EOL it is used as a trap crop against Potato Eel worm. Interesting stuff!
