Shaggy Inkcap?

Fungi to ID - possible shaggy inkcap

At North Cave Wetlands (YWT) on a hedgerow/path. A good 3" tall. I am very uncertain about the identification I've suggested.
Addendum: As noted, comments greatly received. Seemingly a bit too 'mature' to accurately identify wholly. I assume "Coprinus" is the particular family or genus therefore most appropriate to use this as the identification. Thanks to fenwickfield (who has an excellent flickr set of photos) and miked

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

not 100%

Not quite sure as there a bit far gone it may be worth changing your identification to just Coprinus and adding your thoughts on what it is in the description section as it is a Coprinus but not sure if it's C comatus

I think there is just about

I think there is just about enough shaggyness to say its comatus but certainly always best to look around to see if there are others that are less gone over to help with ID.

Thanks for the tip Mike.

Thanks for the tip Mike. Unfortunately I couldn't see any others around at the time. Very new to fungi, certainly something I will need to look at more carefully. The idea of being overripe as suggested by fenwickfield never entered my mind!
