I agree but you might like to add the scientific name, Lasiommata megera as a revised identification. If you don't someone else will! Also, it needs to go in the group called Invertebrates - the question mark group is only for really weird stuff. Great sighting! I've not seen a Wall Brown yet.'s picture

Thank you for your identification and scientific name. It's the first and only one I've seen. Do you know how rare they are?

Not rare

But the population is changing.

To massively over-simplify. In the south they have declined and retreated to the coasts. In Northern England they have been expanding and moving in land.
