Small area of lowland raised peat bog. It has pools created by peat extraction. Currently managed to encourage sphagnum moss & peat formation with water levels kept high. Plants include purple moor grass (Molinia caerulea), heather family (Ericaceae) including cross-leaved heath (Erica tetralix), and cotton grass (Eriophorum angustifolium).
Area invaded by bracken, rhododendron, and birch saplings. Attempts are made to control invasive species. Large number of flying invertebrates over the site including various dragonflies some large.
