In conifer wood club shaped fertile head is initially yellow turning black and finely roughened tapers into a smooth yellow stalk. It is parasitic on species of Elaphomyces which I did not know as I would have dug it out with my penknife to find that too.I have a few I brought home if a sample is needed.
