Description:

A familiar beetle but I cant find an ID for it, any help much appreciated. Approx. 13mm. Similar in size to a shieldbug, eg Hawthorn or Gorse.

Thanks creaturesnapper, yes they are black and brown. Its a bit like Dendroxena quadrimaculata in structure but I just couldnt find the ID. Thanks very much for this ID.

Is that the same as Silpha

Is that the same as Silpha atrata? I thought it was a much larger beetle? One website I just looked said Phosphuga(Silpha) atrata.

Edit- yeah wikipedia says P. atrata up to 15mm, thats spot on. Thanks again.
