Pyreneeangrasshopper
Description:

A grasshopper photographed by Chris Durdin (who asked me to post this) at the Cirque de Troumouse (Bradley Wiggins knows it well...) in the Pyrenees.. a long winding way up... Maybe a purplish Stenobothrus sp. lineata? see: http://www.fokus-natur.de/bild/panzers_grashuepfer-stenobothrus_lineatus... though I'm really not sure what the key characters are for many grasshoppers and I could be well off the mark!.

Great.

Many thanks for this quick input. I'll pass it onto Chris.

We've now had a chance to check out lots of images of this and think you've nailed it - and the wings do seem to be around this length in some shots. Many thanks from Chris too..
