Spider vs. fly – head to head

Description:

My first impression was that the fly flew down and attacked the spider. Perhaps it did - or perhaps a gust of wind simply blew it off course. In either event, the third image suggests that it was the spider that was going to end up winner, and the fly the dinner.

Sepsis sp. etc

The wider issue is whether small differences in
morphology* can accompany qualitative differences in behaviour (predator/non-predator, parasite/non-parasite etc). How can you tell?
