Colonsay growth

A lemon-yellow bright translucent material covering a low-growing heath or rush plant, about 15cm height, almost spawn-like in appearance with small dots inside. Presumably some sort of fungus. Not found a week later.

My guess -

is that it is an aggregate of a slime mould such as Fuligo septica starting to form. The aggregations don't always culminate in the large spore- mass that is frequently posted here.
