The markings on the abdomen of Eristalis can vary quite a lot, hence the difficulty of identifying some of these. I can't see the stripes on the eyes that Eristalis tenax has, and I'm not absolutely convinced that the front tarsi (segmented section at the end of the leg) are dark, so I've agreed with syrphus's identification as genus Eristalis.

(If the front tarsi are pale it would indicate Eristalis pertinax, but it's hard to judge the colour in the photo.)

The appearance of the base of the hind tibia is dark and thick and the abdomen is very broad and heavy...I would be very amazed if this were not tenax, but I suppose it's not quite clear enough to be certain.
