inanis-mimics

some of these are so big and round and yellow that they look like V.inanis in Bat-gear

Bat gear

I never thought of it like that, this was another brute though, really big.

impression

I think you need plenty of both flying around at the same time, to get that impression, don't know how thick the air is with inanis down your way.. virtually a nuisance here.. I'm always having to look from one to another

inanis

Yes a nuisance up here, too...the nuisance being that I have never seen one!

Volucella

inanis and zonaria all day every day even in rain for the last two months, by far the commonest of the genus - they seem to follow you around, posing endlessly, getting in the way and generally making the place look urban

What a difference 50 miles makes

Inanis and Zonaria are uncommon here, they are about but are a rare sight.
